“It was our pleasure and privilege to have our Scottish Terriers photographed by Ellen. We’ve had Scottish Terriers as our companions for over 30 years and never had we had their unique personalities, both as a breed and as individuals, captured like Ellen did this past October. The remarkable images that resulted from Ellen’s “shoot” truly captured the essence of who Arthur and Morgan are and what they mean to us. Her images are so spot on that we can almost sense their presence…Arthur, with his perpetually “smiling” face and dark and inquisitive eyes and Morgan, with her solemn, thoughtful, and caring visage. Her work also captured how close Arthur and Morgan are as each other’s companions and the joy they get from being with each other at play and at rest. Ellen made this art possible by taking the time to talk to us about Arthur and Morgan and the breed and by learning what makes them who they are and why they do what they do. She was patient and adaptable. She didn’t work to a timeline; instead, she let Arthur and Morgan create the picture that she captured.
