The Third Annual Paws and Claus shoot I did with Woofie’s in November raised $3,500 for Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA). The turnout was huge—we photographed 200 dogs, 1 cat (!!) and a number of people with their pets. This was a record event for us, both in the amount of money we raised and in the number of pets who were photographed! We had a number of local pet-related vendors in the warehouse, including the super cool QuickSwitch Collars (they also loaned collars to any dog who wanted to look more festive in his or her photo). The warehouse, where dogs and people waited until it was their turn for a photo was professionally decorated, as was the set, giving the opportunity for fun selfies!
Thank you to everyone who supported us and helped us raise so much money for FOHA. They are a great rescue organization and were very appreciative for the donation, especially as it helped them reach their goal that month, earning them matching funds! If you didn’t make it this year, mark your calendars for early November 2018. Woofie’s and I always post about it well in advance on our Facebook pages, www.facebook.com/ellenzanglaphotography and www.facebook.com/woofies. You also can sign up for my newsletter (scroll to below the gallery photos) to receive advance notice of all the fundraisers I do.
Here are a few of my favorites (honestly, it was really hard to choose). But they show the variety of different dogs who came by! You can see all of them on my Facebook page.

My pets, two dogs and two cats, are an integral part of the fabric of my life. I absolutely adore them. Like other family members whom we love, I feel that it is incredibly important to have portraits of them that capture the essence of who they are, whether they’re regal or goofy (or both!) or somewhere in between. If you feel the same way about your dog, cat or other fur or scaled kid, here’s how you can learn more about a pet photo shoot with me works. Or feel free to contact me. I am a professional pet photographer, specializing in photographs of pets and pets with their people. I serve all of Northern Virginia, including Loudoun, Fairfax, Leesburg, Ashburn and Reston, as well the DC Metro area, and I would love to create pet portraits for you that you will treasure for a lifetime.
