Two Belgian Malinois Enjoying the Pool

It’s great when clients become friends. Especially on hot summer days when they invite you and your family to hang out by the pool. It was a beautiful day for the pool, and I kn0w how much River and Jessie, two beautiful, energetic and very well-trained Belgain Malinois, love it (so much that they lie on the cover during the winter). Obviously though, it’s a lot more fun for them in the summer when they can jump in and chase a ball as long as there is someone with a willing arm to keep throwing it for them.

This was a gorgeous day, and even though this wasn’t a scheduled session, there was no way I was going to miss photographing River and Jessie playing in the pool. And play they did, stopping only when their mom decided they needed a rest. Both of them love to chase a ball, Jessie (in the photo above, she is the one about to make a splash) more so than River, which is ironic, because when Jessie first came home, her parents were told that she had no ball drive. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever met a dog with more ball drive. While I was there it went like this: Human throws the ball. Jessie, and usually River, jump in to get it (Jessie usually got it though). She brings it out, runs over to someone, drops the balls and waits for it to be thrown again. And then repeat. And repeat. A good time was had by all.
