Meet Mickey, a Beautiful Dachshund/Pomeranian Mix
Meet Mickey, a beautiful Dachshund/Pomeranian mix, who I photographed earlier this year when the Bluebells were blooming and then later at my outdoor portrait park. Mickey’s parents adopted him through Save the Tails when he was a puppy (he’ll turn two in September). He only weighs 12 pounds but is a bundle of playfulness and energy, walking or running with his mom every day. He loves riding in the car; when we drove to his Bluebell shoot, he sat in his mom’s lap or mine (another perk of being a pet photographer—extra snuggle time!) the entire ride. And he’s incredibly sweet and affectionate, giving lots of kisses.
Like all parents should, his parents love everything about him, especially his striking tail and ears, and looking at his photos, you’ll easily be able to see why—all those wisps and that softness just make you want to touch them. Mickey feels his main job in life is to protect his house from the birds outside, barking furiously at them whenever he sees one from the window. So maybe I need to amend the first sentence slightly: his parents love almost everything about him. They have a lot of windows in their house and he sees a lot of birds. But at least they know he’s keeping them safe. :)
