Puppy Photos for National Puppy Day
National Puppy Day, otherwise known as a good excuse for posting multiple cute puppy pictures! When photographing puppies, working quickly and having a lot of patience definitely are key. Having a good handler, lots of treats and a slip lead also make puppy shoots go more smoothly. (In all but one of the photos below, the puppies were kept in place by a slip lead, which I edited out. Not only does the slip lead help puppies stay where I want them, but it ensures their safety, which is my number one concern.)
I love photographing puppies for so many reasons: they’re adorable; I get to play with and dote on them; I often get puppy kisses; I get a puppy fix without having to wake up multiple times in the middle of the night to let one out; puppy breath and puppy bellies, and many, many more reasons! A lot of my clients participate in my “Watch Me Grow” Plan, in which I photograph puppies (or kittens) three times over their first year of life to show how much they grow. And then I get to see, play and photograph them three times as puppies! Best job ever!! Really!
Here are some of my favorite puppy photos from the past two years.

My pets, two dogs and two cats, are an integral part of the fabric of my life. I absolutely adore them. Like other family members whom we love, I feel that it is incredibly important to have portraits of them that capture the essence of who they are, whether they’re regal or goofy (or both!) or somewhere in between. If you feel the same way about your dog, cat or other fur or scaled kid, here’s how you can learn more about a pet photo shoot with me works. Or feel free to contact me. I am a pet photographer, specializing in photographs of pets and pets with their people. I serve all of Northern Virginia, including Loudoun, Fairfax, Leesburg, Ashburn and Reston, as well the DC Metro area, and I would love to create pet portraits for you that you will treasure for a lifetime.
