Three Dachshunds and a French Bulldog
How do you get “free” photos of your dog? Give your parents the gift of a pet shoot and then “just happen” to be there with your dog when their photos are taken. :) Luna (the French Bulldog’s) owner gave his parents the gift of a pet shoot for Christmas. The three Dachshunds (Millie, the oldest of the three, Jake, her son, and Reesie, the youngest) are theirs; they waited until the warmer weather to have their photographs taken. Luna spends a lot of time with them, so I photographed all four.
Their personalities are all very different. Millie, who sadly passed away shortly after the shoot, and Jake, her son, are both very sweet and mellow. The photo of Millie looking up at the camera is an award-winning image I titled “Say Cheese” (not a great word choice people can say for a photo as it creates an unnatural smile). And that wasn’t what I said to her to elicit that expression either.
Reesie, the youngest Dachshund, is very sweet but not a huge fan of having her photo taken, as evidenced by the collage showing how many ways she avoided looking at the camera: up, down, right, left and finally a begrudging look. I did get a great shot of her running, which made her dad cry.
And Luna, the French Bulldog, is incredibly energetic and blazing fast. She loves to chase a ball and is very loving and affectionate. If you look at the photo of her with Millie, Jake and Reesie, you can see that she was doing all she could to stay on the step and not jump down. Pet photographers have to be fast!
