I photograph dogs, cats, and families with their pets because pets are important members of our families. I believe we should have photos that capture their personalities and the relationships we share with them.

Pets don’t live as long as we do,. That’s exactly why having meaningful photos of and with them matters. They’re not just pictures we’ll appreciate today; they’re photos we’ll value for a lifetime.

Because I focus exclusively on pets, I know how to work with dogs, cats, and other animals to create portraits that truly reflect who they are. That includes:

  • Creating a calm, low-stress stress environment so pets stay relaxed and comfortable
  • Lighting black dogs and cats so you can see detail in their fur and eyes
  • Eliciting natural expressions

Pet photography requires patience, timing, and an understanding of animal behavior. It’s not about getting a pet to “behave” for the camera;  it’s about creating the right conditions so their personality comes through.

Creating Comfortable Sessions for Every Pet

Many people worry that their dog won’t behave or that their pet isn’t trained enough for photos. That concern comes up often,  and it isn’t a problem. My sessions are designed to be calm, flexible, and tailored to your pet, whether they’re energetic, shy, curious, or somewhere in between.

Most dogs are on a leash during sessions, which I edit out later, and I work at your pet’s pace throughout the shoot. When needed, I also work with a dog handler to help pets stay relaxed and comfortable. There’s no pressure for perfect behavior. The goal is simple: create an environment where your pet can be themselves, so their personality comes through naturally.

I’ve been a pet photographer since 2009, and in that time, there has never been a dog or cat I couldn’t photograph. Most dogs are on a leash during sessions, which I edit out later.
