Ellen Zangla Photography—2015 Silver Medal Photographer of the Year

I am thrilled to announce that I was named a Silver Medalist during Professional Photographer of America’s 2015 International Print Competition, held a few weeks ago. My winning images (shown above) will be on display at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA, January 10-12, 2016.

A panel of 43 jurors from across the US selected the top photographs from nearly 5,200 total entries. Judged against a standard of excellence, just over 2,100 images were selected for the General Collection, and of those, 1.085 were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best.

To receive a medal, all four submitted images must first be accepted into the General Collection. The level of the award is determined by how many of those four images receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA Loan Collection, which is displayed at phtographic exhibitions, conventions and other photography events. I received a Silver Medal, meaning one of my four merited images entered the PPA Loan Collection. In 2015, I was one of only 115 Silver Medalists, a honor less than 10% of the entrants received.
